Green Ridesharing is committed to providing equitable and accessible transportation options for all. We recognize that wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs) are especially important for riders with mobility disabilities or who use wheelchairs. That's why we are expanding our WAV fleet to better serve the handicap community.
Some key points about our increased WAV offerings:
- Over the next year, we aim to add 300 new WAVs to our fleet across major cities. This will represent a 50% increase in the number of accessible cars available on the Green Ridesharing platform.
- The new WAVs will feature the latest safety and accessibility features like ramps and securement systems to transport riders in wheelchairs comfortably and safely.
- We are partnering with organizations in the disability community to identify high-need areas where additional WAV services would be most valuable. Our goal is ensure handicap riders have equitable access to reliable transportation options.
- All Green Ridesharing drivers will undergo new training to learn best practices for assisting riders with disabilities. This includes proper loading/unloading techniques and customer service focusing on respect and dignity.
- We are improving our app and customer service channels to make booking a WAV simpler and more seamless for riders. Accessible options will be prominently displayed alongside standard vehicles.
